Premier Scott Moe is urging the Prime Minister to get back to the negotiating table and to build on the framework already present.
The Premier made the remarks at the Premier’s Panel in Saskatoon on Friday. At the panel, he discussed how only six percent of Saskatchewan’s exports are affected by tariffs but of those six percent they are experiencing 100 per cent of the impact.
“Our message would stay the same and we’ve been advocates and I think evenly actively involved in getting back to the table. We always want to be at the negotiating table with our largest trading partner which is the United States of America.”
He says in the forestry industry those tariffs are north of 35 per cent and in the manufacturing industry they are very significant.
