A new chapter is coming to TCU Place after Cameco Corporation took the spot of title sponsor.
City Council approved the 10 year $3.85 million sponsor contract during Wednesday nights meeting. The new sponsor also means TCU Place will start going by Cameco Centre when the agreement date starts.
Tim Gitzel, CEO of Cameco Corporation, says the design of the new logo is meant to represent Cameco as well as represent people coming together.
“We were really inspired by three ideas that guided the development. The words energy, connection, and community.”
The agreement starts on January 1st and is set to end on December 31st, 2036.
Interim CEO of TCU Place, Matt Colton, says from the start the partnership and discussions with Cameco felt natural.
“The process was easy. I mean we had a similar goal. They wanted to be engaged with us and we wanted to be engaged with them.”
TCU was the sponsor for 20 years prior to Cameco taking the sponsor spot.
