Thanksgiving Monday many organizations reach out to help provide food for those who don’t have a dining room table where that special meal would be possible.
The Mustard Seed, which operates programs and services in Saskatoon as well as six other western Canadian cities, says in 2025 they served more than 965,000 meals, provided over 66,000 health and wellness services and helped 1,466 guests move into housing. The estimated cost to help provide a nutritious meal for someone in need was $5.38 for Thanksgiving. A similar fundraising effort also takes place coming up to Christmas.
The Mustard Seed says it helps “connect individuals with shelter, advocacy, spiritual care, employment support, and pathways towards stable housing”.
