Average retail gasoline prices in Saskatoon have fallen 5.7 c/L in the past week, averaging 172.90 c/L Sunday. That’s according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 81 gas outlets in Saskatoon. This compares with the national average that has fallen 0.8 c/L in the last week to 177.96 c/L.
Including the change in gas prices in Saskatoon during the past week, prices yesterday were 44.8 c/L higher than the same day one year ago and are 3.3 c/L lower than a month ago.
In a news release Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy said, “Diesel also edged lower nationally, offering modest relief after weeks of elevated prices. The Trump administration’s proposed diesel deal remains a wildcard for Canadian markets given the deep integration of North American fuel supply chains, though I remain skeptical it will deliver significant near-term relief.”
He also said the supply outlook remains uncertain with two refineries in the path of Hurricane Isaias still being assessed as well as continued geopolitical pressure.
As for average gasoline prices across Canada, De Haan says prices were mixed in the last week.
