A police news release says 42-year-old, William Lee Perswain, has a lengthy criminal history of sexual offences, including violence with weapons, aggravated assault and indecent acts against minors. He is considered at high risk to re-offend.
The Manitoba RCMP issued a similar public advisory in October 2025 and now the Saskatoon Police Service is doing the same because William Perswain has relocated and is living in the Saskatoon area.
He is described as 5’11” in height, approximately 155 lbs, with short black hair and brown eyes. He has several tattoos.
There are also several conditions he must abide by including attending a public park or swimming area where persons under 16 years are present or can reasonably be expected to be present, or a daycare centre, schoolyard, playground, or community centre.
The full list of prohibitions and a photo are in our online story. If any person is aware of any violations relating to the actions of William Perswain you are asked to notify the Saskatoon Police Service immediately or in an emergency, call 911.
Mr. Perswain is prohibited from:
a) Attending a public park or swimming area where persons under 16 years are present or can reasonably be expected to be present, or a daycare centre, schoolyard, playground, or community centre;
b) Seeking, obtaining, or continuing any employment or volunteerism in a capacity that involves being in a position of trust or authority towards a person under the age of 16;
c) Having contact or communication by any means with a person under the age of 16, unless under the supervision of a person whom the court considers appropriate; and
d) Purchasing, consuming, and possessing alcohol and other intoxicating substances.
It is important to note this information is being shared for the purpose of enabling members of the public to take suitable preventative measures, and not to embark upon any form of vigilantism or unreasonable conduct toward this individual.
The Saskatoon Police Service wants the public to be aware of Mr. Perswain’s presence within the Saskatoon area and of his potential to re-offend.
