The 17 storey mixed use building with commercial and residential components at the top of the Broadway Bridge is not going to proceed.

Brent McAdam, City Centre Planner says the developer has requested a change in zoning to B5B – Broadway Commercial District and AC2 – B5B Broadway Architectural Control Overlay District.

McAdam notes the land is also in the River Landing Overlay District.

“Which contains regulations for development in our riverbank slope areas and requires a geotechnical study at the building permit stage to ensure no adverse effect on slope stability from that development. The site is located within the Meewasin conservation zone which will require approval from Meewasin through its own development review process at that point in time.”
