RCMP in Saskatchewan assisted in finding a plane that went down while traveling between Regina and Steinbach, Manitoba.

On Friday at 5:41 p.m., Carlyle RCMP received a report of the missing aircraft and as two RCMP officers were responding, the Department of National Defence, who was searching for the plane, advised they had located it in a remote, rural area near Kisbey, Saskatchewan.

The site was only accessible via ATV, and the RCMP officers used the detachment ATV to get to the site.

RCMP Collision Reconstruction provided support to Transportation Safety Board of Canada at the scene. The RCMP say because the TSB has taken carriage of the investigation, they will not providing any further information.

TSB says its investigators have completed their work at the accident site and have now returned from the field. While on site, they documented the scene, examined the wreckage and retrieved components for further examination. The only other details provided is that there was a post-impact fire.  TSB expects to have a preliminary summary of the occurrence to share later this week.
