Rain continued to fall heavily all day Monday but as of 6 a.m. yesterday morning many areas of Saskatchewan had already seen significant rainfall. Environment Canada says Last Mountain recorded 56.5 millimetres, Val Marie at 31.2 millimetres, Moose Jaw and Regina between 24 and 26 millimetres. With that came significant winds with Mankota recording a peak wind gust of 89 km/h while Regina saw peak wind gust of 91 kilometres per hour. Kipling also reported baseball sized hail after severe thunderstorms led to torrential rainfall, strong winds, and damaging hail.

A rainfall warning remains in effect for a section of Saskatchewan that includes Prince Albert, Melfort Tisdale, Saskatoon and then south through Rosetown, Davidson all the way to the U.S. border. Rain continues through parts of southern Saskatchewan this morning but will taper off through the day.

Since this latest bout of rain, on social media site The Great Saskatchewan Rain Gauge, a Coronach rain gauge recorded about 165 millimetres or 6.5 inches of rain. A resident in Confederation Park in Saskatoon recorded 54 millimetres over the last few days while 46 millimetres filled a rain gauge in Eastview. There was around 2 inches or 50 millimetres in Vanscoy, Regina saw around 4 inches or 100 millimetres, approximately 51 millimetres in Melfort. All measurements are volunteer – back yard – rain gauges.
