The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Regina General Hospital is expanding.
The provincial government is adding three beds in the unit, which are set to become operational in early September. This will bring NICU bed numbers up from 25 to 28.
The Government of Saskatchewan and Hospitals of Regina Foundation are funding the project- over $2 million coming from the Province to enhance pediatric and neonatal care, and $800,000 from the Foundation for specialized NICU technology and equipment that supports high-quality care for premature and medically fragile infants.
