Conservation officers seek public help after rifle reportedly fired near homes south of Pike Lake

Saskatchewan conservation officers are asking for the public’s help identifying people believed to have discharged a rifle several times near occupied buildings along the South Saskatchewan River.

Saskatoon conservation officers received information that an orange fan boat was seen hunting on Aug. 11 on the river, approximately 20 kilometres south of Pike Lake Provincial Park.

Officers say evidence collected during the investigation suggests the occupants discharged a rifle several times within 500 metres of an occupied dwelling without the homeowners’ consent.

The Saskatchewan Conservation Officer Service is now seeking information that could help identify the people responsible.
