The Saskatoon Fire Department took a trip down to the Silverwood Dog Park on Thursday to perform a rescue and extrication.

The report came in just before 8 pm on Friday. When the first engine arrived on the scene, they found a trapped man caught in the grate of a large drainage pipe. Two Rescue Trucks were then called to the scene.

A rope system was used to get the man out. The crews on scene cut the grating and harnessed, secured and lifted the man to safety to release him from the grating.

The man was then handed off for medical care.
