The Emergency Department at Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital will have an alternate waiting room for the next week or so following a leak in a water line on Thursday that resulted in the closure of a waiting room and adjacent washroom.

According to a Saskatchewan Health Authority news release, there has been no impact on Emergency Department operations – adding that the alternate waiting room is located adjacent to the closed area and the washroom has been re-opened. Repairs and remediation are underway with the closure of the waiting room expected to last about seven days, when it is safe for patients and staff. In the meantime, the public are asked to follow posted signage to the temporary waiting room when visiting the R-U-H Emergency Department.
