A company has been fined for one violation of provincial Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
Mallard Diversified Services Inc. entered the plea in connection with a worksite accident that occurred May 10, 2024 in Wadena. A worker was injured when they fell off a ladder onto a concrete floor while replacing torsion springs on an overhead door.
The employer was charged with failing to ensure that a portable ladder was secured against accidental movement during use, resulting in serious injury.
Provincial Court imposed a total fine of $8,000 against the company ($5,714.29 fine plus a victim surcharge of $2,285.71). Two other charges were withdrawn.
