A Saskatoon Fire Department (S-F-D) dive team are continuing to search the South Saskatchewan River in the north end of Saskatoon in the hopes of locating a woman and a dog.

They were seen around 11:45 a.m. Friday morning by a witness who saw the woman flailing in the water in the area of Spadina Crescent East and Ravine Drive. The continuing search efforts of the S-F-D dive team includes the use of sonar scanning. A diver will go into the water if the sonar picks up any additional information. Initially, a fire department diver was in the water for about an hour, but was unable to find the woman or the dog. There was a report that the dog had managed to get to shore, but that has not been confirmed. The fire crews conducted, both, a riverbank and water search while the Saskatoon Police Service (S-P-S) and Corman Park Police Service (C-P-P-S) provided drone support that allowed the search to be expanded from the air. Police are continuing to investigate and ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist to call the S-P-S at 306-975-8300.
