Wanuskewin Road
Beginning this week Wanuskewin Road will be fully closed north of 72nd Street for approximately three months as crews complete open-cut pipeline installation work on the Biosolids Pipeline Corridor Project. The project involves the replacement of two underground pipelines connecting the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant to a city-operated biosolids facility in the RM of Corman Park.
While the work is underway Wanuskewin Road will be closed in both directions at 72nd Street, and there will be no access through the work zone. Drivers travelling between Saskatoon and Highway 11 will not be able to use Wanuskewin Road and will be detoured via Louis Riel Trail (Highway 11) and Idylwyld Drive.
Northbound traffic on Wanuskewin Road will be detoured at Marquis Drive, while southbound traffic from Highway 11 will be required to use alternate routes to access the city. Pedestrian and cyclist pathways north of Marquis Drive will remain closed throughout this phase of construction.
Fringe Festival
Some road restrictions and closures will be in place starting this week for the Saskatoon Fringe Festival and Broadway Days.
Road restrictions will be in place on 11th Street E, Dufferin Avenue and 12th Street E starting today and wrapping up on August 10 for the Saskatoon Fringe Festival.
Broadway Days will lead to the closure of Broadway Avenue between 10th Street E and 12th Street E from Saturday to next Monday (August 3).
Rosewater Boulevard will see a closure between Gillies Crescent and Gillies Way starting on Monday to allow for sewer work, with the closure starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, and the work is expected to take about 10 days to complete.
The city said water main rehabilitation work on 25th Street East will require a series of closures, starting with the eastbound lane between Second and Third avenues on Monday.
