Ag in Motion started Tuesday morning just west of Langham, but show awards were presented on Monday evening at a ceremony in Saskatoon.

Thirty-five companies submitted entries for the Ag Innovation Awards with 10 receiving silver awards and four getting the top gold awards.  The full list of silver award winners is in the news release at the bottom of the story.

LandView Drones from Camrose, Alberta was honored for its new Swathview technology. LandView Drones President and CEO Markus Weber says recent changes to federal regulations, as well as very wet fields in some parts of Western Canada, has increased farmer interest in using drones to apply fungicides in the summer and desiccants prior to harvest.

Expect the drone area to be very busy at Ag in Motion with four companies demonstrating small and large drones.

NEXAT Canada received a gold innovation award for its German-made technology that can do the work of multiple machines with a single autonomous, high-horsepower carrier vehicle. Luca Lang is Nexat’s Country Manager for Canada.

Three NEXAT units were tested on fields last year and again this year in the Moose Jaw/Regina area.  Farmers will be able to see it live and in person at Ag in Motion.

The other two gold Ag in Motion Innovation Awards went to Horsch for its Leeb Xeric FS. It is a high capacity, trailing pneumatic fertilizer spreader with tandem axles for reduced soil compaction and active boom control to ensure uniform application even in windy conditions and on uneven terrain. PTx Trimble won a gold award for its Outrun Autonomy Aftermarket Kit.
