Back to Batoche is back for its 56th year.
Back to Batoche is a festival that’s meant to celebrate and share Metis culture. The event began on Thursday and will run till Sunday. The Vermette Raceway, a language tent teaching Michif languages, and a Metis Roblox are just a few of the things people can experience at the event.
Nicki Morton, Back to Batoche’s Festival Coordinator, said everyone is welcome to attend the festival.
“For those that don’t know about our culture and our food and the language, you know, to take a piece of that knowledge with them back.”
For those in Saskatoon wanting to attend, there are free shuttles from Saskatoon to Prince Albert. Information about shuttles schedules, entrance fees, and more can be found on the Metis Gathering website.
