The Northern Tornadoes Project has confirmed more EF1 tornadoes from last Friday including Petrofka, Waldheim, Speers and Redberry Lake. A downburst was also confirmed in Rosthern and is rated EF0 based on the damage.
NTP says witnesses captured video and photos of the tornado that developed south of Petrofka and tracked eastward to Waldheim. There was damage to residential and business properties, power poles, trees and vehicles. No one was injured. The tornado had an estimated max. wind speed of 175 km/h, track length of 24.6 km and was almost a kilometre wide.
The tornadoes at Redberry Lake and Speers had an estimated maximum wind speed of 150 kilometres per hour while the maximum wind speed in the downburst at Rosthern was 130 kilometres per hour.
Previously the Northern Tornadoes Project had confirmed six other tornadoes on Friday in Dundurn, Leross, Cupar, Plunckett and two twisters in Herzel. So that brings the total for last Friday to 10.
The NTP had also confirmed two tornadoes in Glaslyn last Saturday.
