The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is digging up the invoices from the 2025 United Nations climate change conference in Brazil last year.
A release from the CTF says the federal government spent $482,800 on accommodations at COP30, according to a response to an order paper question from member of Parliament Carol Anstey.
On top of accommodations, transportation cost $297,400 and per diems cost $39,000, which rounds out to about $3,400 per delegate.
With 240 delegates being flown out, paying for travel and accommodations, along with the government’s pavilion, cost taxpayers at least $1.6 million, records show.
