With the arrival of the May long weekend, many people turn to planning summer excursions but a cautionary note from Parks Canada for those wanting to capture some great visuals.
Recreational drones are not allowed in any national parks in Canada. That includes national historic sites, and national marine conservation areas. Flying a drone for fun, including micro-drones under 250 grams, can lead to some pretty stiff fines.
Parks Canada, in an online post, notes that the parks are home for many wildlife species and a buzzing drone that an animal may view as chasing them is strictly prohibited because they disturb wildlife.
They also note that a lot of visitors head to national parks for the purpose of not hearing the modern noise that comes with today’s innovations.
