The reigning Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders finish the first week of Main Camp today at the Main Gym in the College of Kinesiology (The PAC) on the USask campus. Practice is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Riders will fly out to Calgary tomorrow to play their first pre-season game on Monday, May 18th, against the Stampeders. Kick off time is 1 p.m. Saskatchewan’s home pre-season game will be on Saturday, May 23rd, against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Griffiths Stadium. Kick off time is 5 p.m. The Roughriders will open the regular-season at home on Saturday, June 13th, against the B-C Lions. Kick off time is 5 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.

The I-I-H-F World Men’s Hockey Championships continue today with the tournament running through Sunday, May 31st in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland. Sixteen national teams are taking part, split into two groups of eight teams for preliminary round-robin play, plus playoffs. Canada is one of the 16 nations taking part and are in Group B. The 2026 Centennial Cup, Canadian Junior A Hockey Championship tournament continues today and runs through Sunday, May 17th in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Nine league champions from across the country, including the S-J-H-L-champion Flin Flon Bombers, plus a host team from Summerside, are taking part. They are split into two pools of five teams each for preliminary round-robin play, followed by playoffs.
