The W-H-L has re-amalgamated its Prospect Draft format and is following the N-H-L in splitting the event up over two days instead of doing it all in one.
Since 2020, drafting was done over two days as teams went through a U-S Priority Draft, then the main Prospects Draft for Western Canadian talent. However, this year’s Draft is reverting back to one large pool of talent to pick from with the first round of 23 selections to be made Wednesday night and the rest of the picks of 2011-born talent to be made Thursday. Kelowna is on the clock, although there have been plenty of rumours that the Rockets will trade the first overall selection. The Saskatoon Blades hold the 18th overall choice.
