A 33-year-old man has been charged with multiple offenses after evading Saskatoon Police during the early morning hours on Saturday.
Police pulled over two vehicles that had been speeding down Avenue P South approaching 20th Street. The vehicles went to a parking lot in the 1700 block of 20th Street where the officer attempted a traffic stop. However, a man in one of the vehicles got in the driver’s seat and sped away. The vehicle was found later unoccupied on the 200 block of Avenue J South.
Soon after, a man who matched the description of the driver, exited a residence but failed to comply with police commands. The suspect fled on foot and a Police Dog was deployed. The suspect was arrested without incident. Paramedics treated the man for injuries consistent with a dog bite.
The man is charged with evading police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants from the Prince Albert Police Services.
