Saskatoon police arrested five people following two separate robberies last night.
First, around 8:30 p.m. police were called to the 100 block of Mackie Crescent for a report of a robbery.
Officers say the victim had been walking in the area when she was approached by two unknown people who mugged her. The victim ran to a nearby home for help, but the suspects began following her. As the homeowner opened the door, the suspects ran in the opposite direction.
A 30-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were arrested nearby.
Then, at 9:15 p.m., officers were called to another robbery outside a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South, Midtown Plaza. Another female victim stated that she was approached from behind by an unknown group who pinned her to the exterior wall of the mall and mugged her.
The victim ran to a nearby taxi to for help as the suspects fled on foot. Two men, age 31 and 38, and 22-year-old woman were arrested nearby and have been charged with robbery.
