Saskatoon’s third and fourth, unrelated, homicides are currently under investigation.
On April 3, police and fire were called to a house fire in the 400 block of Avenue I South.
Police say firefighters removed a 61-year-old woman from the home, and she was declared dead at the scene. Through investigation she has been determined to be the victim of homicide.
Then, at around 3:45 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 500 block of Avenue X South for a report of an injured person. Officers arrived to find a 39-year-old unresponsive man. He was transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services West where he was later pronounced dead.
Members of the Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections are continuing to investigate.
