Influenza activity decreased, COVID-19 remained stable and RSV increased in Saskatchewan over the past four weeks, according to the latest Community Respiratory Illness Surveillance Program (CRISP) Situation Report.

Influenza test positivity is at 4.3 per cent, with 32.6 per cent of cases in individuals under 20 years old. COVID-19 test positivity is at 6.3 per cent, with 54.7 per cent of cases in adults aged 20 to 64. RSV test positivity is at 12 per cent, with 44.9 per cent of cases in children under 5.

There were 15 reported respiratory virus associated outbreaks in high-risk settings. Five were due to COVID-19, one to Influenza A, two to RSV, and seven were due to other respiratory viruses.

Hospitalizations and ICU admissions decreased for COVID-19 and Influenza, but RSV-related admissions increased. There were no influenza-associated deaths and one COVID-19 death reported in the last two weeks.

Around 22 and 14 per cent of Saskatchewan residents are vaccinated against Influenza and COVID-19 respectively. Flu and COVID-19 shots can be booked at 4flu.ca.
