Three people from Moosomin First Nation were arrested and charged with kidnapping, attempted murder, and armed robbery.
On September 14, Battlefords RCMP received a report of a serious assault at a home on Moosomin First Nation.
Officers arrived to learn that a group of individuals in a vehicle approached a man and a woman before assaulting the adult man and stealing his belongings.
They then forced the woman into the vehicle, drove away and later assaulted her. However, she was able to escape and seek help and was later taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Through continued investigation, 34-year-old Jordan Osecap and 28-year-old Neishia Baptiste were found and arrested. Until recently, the search was still on for 25-year-old Wionna Katcheech, but she was since arrested in Fort Kent, Alberta by RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement Response Team on December 16. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 13.
