A lithium refining demonstration plant in southeast Saskatchewan will soon benefit from support of the Province’s Critical Minerals Innovation Incentive.

EMP Metals Corp.’s Project Aurora will involve building and operating a small-scale lithium refining demonstration facility to develop a model for larger, commercial-scale lithium production in the future.

A release from the Province says Project Aurora is an initiative that builds on the success of a previous lithium conversion pilot program. Saltworks will design and construct the demonstration plant, while EMP Metals provides lithium brine from its Viewfield well.

This is just one of many projects supported by the SCMII, many of which target the extraction of the 11 emerging critical minerals in Saskatchewan.
