RCMP say they received a report from a member of the public who was also driving on Highway #39 the evening of September 12 around 8:00 p.m. and may have been traveling behind the Ford Explorer where a woman was killed.
The person says they heard two pops that sounded like rocks hitting the windshield but there was no damage to any windows. But the next day the person noted their SUV tire was flat. They didn’t know if it was related to the incident involving a 44-year-old woman who died after a bullet pierced the Ford Explorer she was travelling in as it headed to Weyburn, but they wanted to report it because of the timing.
The SUV’s tire has since been examined by an RCMP forensic expert, and it was determined the tire was damaged by a gunshot. Investigators have confirmed the SUV was traveling a close distance behind the Ford Explorer, passed it and continued towards Weyburn after the incident occurred.
Investigators thank the public for continuing to report information and tips to police. Anyone with information is urged to contact RCMP.
