A Prince Albert woman has been taken to hospital following the armed robbery of her vehicle.
Thursday morning just after midnight, police were told that a female victim was giving a ride to a female acquaintance to the area of 15th Avenue East and Muzzy Drive when an unknown male entered her vehicle, a 2018 white Ford Escape.
The victim was then directed to drive to a home in the 500 block of 22nd Street East where the pair then robbed her of her keys and phone.
Police say the man was pointing a long-barreled firearm at the victim while the woman threatened her with a knife before stabbing her. The duo then drove away in the victim’s vehicle.
The Escape was found at 1:05 a.m. near Central Avenue and 12th Street West. A traffic stop was attempted by the vehicle left the city northbound across the Diefenbaker Bridge. A police pursuit ensued, later returning to Prince Albert where the stolen vehicle was finally stopped at 15th Street West and 2nd Avenue West.
The 20-year-old female suspect was located inside the vehicle and arrested; however, the man was not present.
The investigation continues.
