The Regina Police Service says an 11 year old girl was sent to hospital Monday in a firearm incident.

Officers were called to a home in the 1000 block of Edgar Street shortly after 2:00 a.m. Monday morning. They arrived to find the child inside the home suffering with a gunshot wound. She was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries.

So far, investigation is showing that multiple gunshots were fired at the home from outside. The investigation is ongoing but, at this time, there appears to be no risk to the public.

Anyone who has relevant information or video surveillance from the past 24 hours is asked to reach out to RPS investigators.
