The Saskatoon Police Service says a 20-year-old woman is facing charges after a robbery and a stabbing over the weekend.
Around 2:00 p.m. Saturday police responded to the 400 block of Pendygrasse Road in Fairhaven where a 16-year-old girl reported she was walking in a nearby park when she was approached by a woman who demanded her cell phone and then stabbed her. A witness directed officers to a suspect who was still in the park.
She was arrested and charged with Robbery, Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace. The victim was transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
And on Sunday the Saskatoon Police Service says two 16-year-olds are charged after an incident at a Saskatoon gas station.
Police were called to the 1200 block of Baltzan Boulevard in the city’s Evergreen neighbourhood around 1:30 Sunday afternoon
A staff member at the business told police that three males entered the building and a verbal altercation took place. One of the male suspects then produced a gun and pointed at the staff member before all three fled the scene.
Officers located three suspects near by and say one male was found to be in possession of an expandable baton. He is now facing a charge of Possession of a Weapon and released with a future appearance date in provincial court.
The second male was found to be in possession of what is now known to be a cap gun. He is charged with Assault With a Weapon and Mischief Under $5000. He was also released from custody with a notice to appear in provincial court.
