A crane collapse at a Saskatoon construction site Saturday morning has left one person dead and another injured.
Just after 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 600 block of Webster Street following reports of an industrial accident. Investigators say the crane collapsed during operation, injuring two workers at the site.
Both men were transported to hospital, but the injuries sustained by a 38-year-old man from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta proved fatal. His next of kin has been notified.
A 37-year-old man remains in hospital. The cause of the collapse in Saskatoon’s Forest Grove neighbourhood is under investigation. Occupational Health and Safety has been notified.
