Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan, better known as Potash Corp., has pleaded guilty to seriously injuring a worker in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
On June 17, the company acknowledged a violation of the occupational health and safety code where a worker was endangered by the swinging movement of a load or mobile equipment resulting in the serious injury of a worker.
The Court imposed a fine of $85,714.29, alongside a surcharge of $34,285.71, for a total penalty of $120,000.
The incident occurred on December 9, 2022, near Allan, when a worker was struck by a metal crane rail that was being dragged along the ground by a telehandler.
