The United States has traditionally led the world in funding development programs in third world countries—but those programs have been on the chopping block since U.S. President Donald Trump returned for his second term.
Many successful programs in South America, Africa and Asia have been discontinued leaving the gaps difficult or impossible to fill.
Andy Harrington is the Executive Director of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, an inter-church agency that funds various programs in developing nations. He has extensive experience and is worried about the U.S. cuts—many which were implemented without much warning or examination of the potential implications.
