SaskParks is notifying campers of several changes to camping availability at three provincial parks due to wildfires in the north.
All campgrounds at Narrow Hills Provincial Park will be closed for the 2025 season. The Facebook post from SaskParks cites burned trees and damage to park infrastructure as the reason, as they pose a public safety risk. All backcountry areas, such as ATV trails, are also closed. They add that the ecosystem needs time to regenerate, However, they hope to reopen the park for day-use visitation later this summer.
All campgrounds and recreation sites at Lac La Ronge Provincial Park are closed until at least June 26, and new bookings are paused until further notice.
And at Candle Lake Provincial Park, new bookings are unavailable until further notice.
Voluntary cancellations or re-bookings are now being offered without any fees for stays up until June 26.
