Diabetes Canada has been supporting individuals living with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes for 40 years and through their National Diabetes Trust Division, are hosting a Nationwide Collection Drive in Saskatoon this Saturday, May 31st. Residents can bring their gently used clothing and small household items to the No Frills at 1018 Taylor Street between 9 am and 2 pm.
Sean Shannon is the CEO and President of National Diabetes Trust and encourages everyone to come out to the event because it is a great way to support people living with diabetes and reduce waste in our landfills.
To date, Diabetes Canada has raised two hundred million dollars. Shannon says the money supports individuals living with diabetes in many ways, such as sending children to D-camps, diabetes research and medical equipment.
Diabetes Canada accepts donations all year round, and you can find more information here on what they accept and how they support individuals living with diabetes.
