The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a house fire Tuesday night in the 200 block of Avenue K South.

The call came in at 8:09 p.m. and when firefighters arrived they could see smoke and flames coming from the back of the house and the backyard.

The fire had extended to the attic area of the house before it was extinguished. All the occupants did manage to evacuate safely.

A fire investigator is identifying the cause, origin and damage estimate.
