Saskatchewan Polytechnic reports Wednesday that enrolment for the 2024 fall term has reached an all-time high. The post-secondary institution has seen a three per cent increase from the previous year.
Sask Polytech says it has experienced growth across all training levels, including a notable nine per cent increase in certificate, diploma and degree programs. There is a total of 11,849 enrolments in 2024.
Indigenous student enrolment has increased by four per cent to 1,170. Indigenous enrolment in certificate, diploma and degree programs has jumped by 22 per cent, reaching a five-year high. International enrolments saw a five per cent increase from the previous year, reaching 3,361.
In a news release Sask Polytech president and CEO Dr. Larry Rosia says, “This increase not only demonstrates the value of an applied education but also reflects our faculty and staff’s dedication to our students. Sask Polytech is equipping students with the practical skills and innovative mindset needed in today’s workforce.”
Sask Polytech says the growth in enrolment shows their commitment to meet the evolving needs of students and Saskatchewan’s labour market.
