At the beginning of the week, we the Saskatoon Media Group newsroom told you about several accounts of hay bales in the Macklin area being set on fire. Unity and Wilkie RCMP report that 13 incidents took place in the surrounding areas of Macklin, Senlac, and Denzil between July 31st and August 11th.

Officers believe the incidents are related to one another and were set by an unknown suspect or suspects. Due to too many variables at play, the value of destroyed goods has not been estimated. The RCMP advise farmers to bring their hay bales close to their farmyards for easier monitoring and report any suspicious people or vehicles to police.
