In 2023-24, the Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation granted over 55 Saskatoon-and-area nonprofit organizations with more than $1.4 million.
The grants focused on supporting urban and rural children, seniors and families by means of cultural and educational development, as well as mental health support.
One of the initiatives paid for by such grants are Cheer Crates.
Cheer Crates support vulnerable students experiencing food insecurity during times when
access to school-based support is unavailable, especially during October and February school breaks.
This year the DDCDC also funded the Page Turners literacy programs and Early Learner Tutor program.
The DDCDC was established by the Saskatoon Tribal Council.
