The Saskatchewan Rattlers signed a rookie professional big man and a C-E-B-L veteran today as the Snakes desperately try to reverse their fortunes.
Losers of seven straight and sitting a game-and-a-half out of a playoff spot, the Rattlers announced that 6’10” Seton Hall grad Jaden Bediako and 6’7″, seven-year pro Tyrell Green will join them for Thursday’s must-win home game against Winnipeg. Bediako is coming off his final season in the N-C-A-A with Seton Hall, starting in all 37 games while averaging 8.1 points. During his seven-year pro career, Green has played with 11 teams in Canada, Great Britain, Finland, Hungary, Sweden and Luxembourg – including stints with Guelph, Ottawa and Brampton over five seasons in the C-E-B-L. Rattlers Add NCAA Big Man and Veteran Pro Ahead of Playoff Push
Saskatoon, Sask. – The Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Tuesday that the club signed 6-foot-10 Jaden Bediako and 6-foot-7 Tyrell Green for the remainder of the 2024 season. The duo will make their CEBL debuts on Thursday in a match-up against the Winnipeg Sea Bears at SaskTel Centre.
During his five-year NCAA D1 career, Bediako has played in NCAA DI with Santa Clara University and Seton Hall University. He has a collegiate career average of 6.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 20.1 minutes in 148 games.
“Jaden is coming off a highly successful college career at Seton Hall and should make an immediate positive impact on our lineup,” said General Manager and Vice-President of Basketball Operations, Barry Rawlyk. “We are very excited to have a big man with his skill set join us.”
Bediako is coming off his final season in the NCAA with Seton Hall starting in all 37 games while averaging 8.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and a team-high 1.6 blocks in 24.8 minutes played. As a senior, Bediako was ranked top 20 in Division 1 in offensive rebounds with 3.5 per game and ranked second in the conference for total blocks with 37. He started his collegiate career with Santa Clara playing four years averaging 5.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 18.5 minutes in 111 games played. Bediako will make his professional debut with the Rattlers.

During his seven-year professional career, Green has played with eleven teams in Canada, Great Britain, Finland, Hungary, Sweden, and Luxembourg. He has a professional career average of 12.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 23.9 minutes in 157 games.
“Tyrell brings a wealth of CEBL and International playing experience to the team.” said General Manager and Vice-President of Basketball Operations, Barry Rawlyk. “Unfortunately injuries have depleted our line-up at that position so we are fortunate to have Tyrell available to step in..”
Green is coming off a season with the Plymouth City Patriots in the British Basketball League where he averaged 11.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 23.3 minutes in 25 games played. Green has played with the Guelph Nighthawks, Ottawa Blackjacks, and the Brampton Honey Badgers over five seasons in the CEBL averaging 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.0 assist, and 17.0 minutes playing in 42 games.
