Weather conditions were in favor of volunteer firefighters from Loreburn, Elbow and Davidson as a light wind kept the smoke and hot embers away from the community.
The Davidson Fire Department received an alarm at 10:24am on Sunday. As the grain elevator burned, it candled rather than falling over and potentially causing the fire to spread.
There were no injuries and no other buildings were damaged.
In a social media message, the Davidson Fire Department thanked the Loreburn and Elbow Fire Departments for their efforts. It also mentioned the Mutual Aid agreement that has the three fire departments provide resources, help and support for one another.
