The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 300 block of Anderson Crescent at 8:50 this (Wed) morning, and damages are estimated at $150,000.
Upon arrival, there was no smoke or fire showing, however the resident of the home was standing outside with their pets. They indicated that there were cats still within the home, but no other occupants.
Crews entered the home and an offensive attack was launched. A fire was found in the basement and extinguished at 9:13a.m. The pets were all accounted for, with no injuries.
The SFD fire investigator on scene has determined that the fire was caused by the failure of electronic components of a small toy that utilized double AA batteries.
