Saskatoon residents are being reminded that they can drop off live Christmas trees for free at the Sort & Go area at the Material Recovery Centre until January 31.

The MRC is located at 42 Valley Road, near the landfill and is open daily, seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

By diverting your trees away from the landfill, they instead will be chipped and composted or used as mulch.

The previous community-based Christmas tree drop off sites are no longer available for use.
