Saskatoon Police responded to a sudden death Saturday morning at the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre. At approximately 11:00am, officers responded to a report that a 34-year-old man was found unresponsive in his cell.
Medical staff were present to provide care, however the man was declared dead a short time later. The cause of death is undetermined at this time, but foul play is not suspected.
An autopsy is scheduled for a later date and the man’s next of kin have been notified. The Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service will continue with their investigation.
