The volunteer musical theatre group, Saskatoon Summer Players is kicking off its 60th anniversary with a play that used to be a movie, which was a sleeper hit in 1997.
Director Lorna Batycki describes The Full Monty as a cheeky little show with a lot of heart.
It’s about a group of unemployed factory workers who need some quick money, do they decide to do a strip show.
However, the storyline is about more than that.
Batycki says it’s about finding community and self-acceptance.
The Full Monty runs Monday through Thursday at the Broadway Theatre, with a special late-night show at 11:30 Thursday night.
Tickets are available at the box office or online.”
