A Saskatoon man has been arrested after robbing the same Fairhaven business twice in one day.
Wednesday at 4:00am, police were called to a business in the 200 block of Pendygrasse Road after the report of an armed robbery that had occurred at 3:30, just 30 minutes earlier.
The man in question had stolen cigarettes and fled the scene before officers arrived. Later on, at 12:20 p.m. the same day, police received a report of a masked male stealing cigarettes while armed at the very same business. As he fled, police say he was observed by witnesses to be changing his clothing while running. A search was conducted by members of the Canine Unit and Patrol, and a man was located in the area of Clancy Drive and Fairmont Drive. He was arrested without further incident, but police say they could not locate a firearm, and through investigation, determined that he might not have been using one during the robberies.
The 35-year-old man is facing charges relating to robbery and disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence. Outstanding warrants were also executed upon his arrest.
