Fourteen Saskatoon high school students have graduated from the Cadet Orientation Police Studies, or C.O.P.S, program.
Youth in Grade 11 and 12 from students from E.D. Feehan Catholic High School, Bethlehem Catholic High School, Oskāyak High School, Mount Royal Collegiate and Bedford Road Collegiate were eligible for the eight-week program, and their graduation ceremony took place Thursday in the Saskatoon Police Service gymnasium. During the program, participants learn the importance of teamwork, community engagement, and leadership. Students also were provided with practical training, including being able to repel down a wall, and knowledge on a variety of police units.
