Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister, David Marit, is leaving for India and the United Arab Emirates.
Marit will be attending the Pulses Conclave in Mumbai, and the Gulfood Exhibition tradeshow in Dubai. Last year, Saskatchewan was the United Arab Emirates’ and India’s largest supplier of lentils, accounting for 70 per cent and 50 per cent of each country’s imports. In addition, two of Saskatchewan’s nine international trade offices are in India and the UAE.
“We continue to advocate for our province as a top supplier of safe, high-quality and sustainable agrifood products,” Marit said. “Missions like this are critical for strengthening relationships with our long-standing partners worldwide”.
Marit left the province today, and he will be returning to Saskatchewan on February 22nd.
